Buy an eSIM with Litecoin (LTC): Pay on the Litecoin Network

Pay for a HelloSIM travel eSIM with Litecoin: send LTC on the Litecoin network itself, make sure the full amount arrives and get your eSIM once the payment confirms.

You can buy a HelloSIM travel eSIM with Litecoin (LTC) by choosing "Pay with crypto" at checkout, selecting Litecoin on the secure payment page and sending the exact LTC amount shown on the Litecoin network. Once the payment is confirmed on the blockchain, the eSIM is issued, appears in your account or the app, and the QR code is emailed to you.

Litecoin works much like Bitcoin: it has its own blockchain, its own address format and a network fee on every transaction. Paying with it is straightforward, and the few things that can go wrong come down to two questions: which network the LTC leaves on, and how much of it actually arrives. This guide covers both.

Can you buy a travel eSIM with Litecoin?

Yes. HelloSIM sells prepaid travel data eSIMs for 190+ countries, plus regional plans for areas such as Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Global plans for trips across several continents. "Pay with crypto" is available at checkout on the website and in the HelloSIM iPhone and Android app, and Litecoin is one of about 100 coin and network combinations on the payment page. The list shown there is the current one, and it can change.

Every plan is priced in euros. When you choose LTC, the payment page converts the euro amount into Litecoin at the moment of payment and shows a payment address, a QR code and the exact amount to send.

Which network to use when you pay with LTC

Litecoin has one native network, and that is the one to use: the Litecoin network itself. The catch is on the sending side. Some exchanges also offer "LTC" withdrawals on other blockchains, as a token that represents Litecoin there. That token is not the same as Litecoin on the Litecoin network, and a transfer on a different network can leave the payment incomplete.

Two checks keep this simple:

  • Read the network field. In an exchange withdrawal form, select Litecoin (often labelled LTC) as the network. Do not accept whatever is preselected.
  • Look at the address. Litecoin addresses usually begin with L, M or ltc1. If a withdrawal form rejects the address from the payment page, the wrong network is probably selected: change the network, never the address.

Blockchain transfers cannot be recalled once sent, so these few seconds are worth taking.

How to pay for an eSIM with Litecoin, step by step

  1. 1Choose a plan. Pick a country, regional or Global plan on the website or in the app.
  2. 2Enter your email address. This is where the eSIM is sent. Guest checkout works with just an email; an account helps you manage your eSIMs and top up later.
  3. 3Select "Pay with crypto". A secure hosted payment page opens.
  4. 4Choose Litecoin (LTC). The page shows the payment address, a QR code and the exact LTC amount.
  5. 5Send the payment. Scan the QR code or paste the address into your wallet or exchange, enter the exact amount and confirm the network is Litecoin. The request stays open for 1 hour.
  6. 6Wait for confirmation. When the payment is confirmed on the blockchain, the eSIM is issued. It appears in your account or the app, and the QR code arrives by email.
  7. 7Install the eSIM. You can do this over Wi-Fi before you travel.

Sending the exact LTC amount: fees and wallet settings

Sending less than the amount shown can leave the payment incomplete, while overpaying still completes the order. With Litecoin, the usual reason for a short payment is the way the fee is handled, so it helps to know where yours goes.

  • Network fees are paid by you, on top of the amount shown. Your wallet should add the fee to the transfer, not take it out of the amount.
  • Leave "subtract fee from amount" switched off. Some Litecoin wallets offer this option, and a "send max" button can have the same effect. Either can make the amount that arrives smaller than the amount requested.
  • Check exchange withdrawals. Many exchanges deduct their withdrawal fee from the figure you type. Look at the amount that will actually be received and raise it if needed.
  • Copy the amount, do not retype it. Use every decimal place shown, and do not round down.

How long a Litecoin payment takes, and when to buy

The eSIM is issued once the payment is confirmed on the blockchain. How long that takes depends on the coin and the network at the time, so HelloSIM does not promise a number of minutes. Paying at home on a steady connection, and not at the departure gate, takes the pressure off.

There is no reason to wait until the last moment. The eSIM's validity starts when it first connects to a network at your destination, not on the day you buy it, so a plan bought a week or two early loses nothing. If the 1-hour payment window closes before you send, start a new request from checkout and never send to an expired one.

What you need to pay with Litecoin

  • An email address to receive the eSIM
  • A phone that supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked
  • LTC in a wallet or on an exchange, enough for the amount plus the network fee
  • A Wi-Fi connection to install the eSIM

No bank card is involved when you pay with Litecoin. The minimum for a crypto payment is €1.00, and the same "Pay with crypto" option can be used to top up your HelloSIM wallet balance.

Before you send: refunds and what you are buying

All sales are final, so there are no refunds once an order is paid. Before you send any LTC, check that your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked, and that the plan covers where you are going. The eSIM is data-only and has no phone number, so it adds mobile data without replacing your usual number.

Pay with LTC and land connected

Choose Litecoin on the payment page, send on the Litecoin network, make sure the full amount arrives and finish within the hour. Do that, and your travel data is ready before you leave home.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy a travel eSIM with Litecoin?
Yes. Choose "Pay with crypto" at HelloSIM checkout, select Litecoin (LTC) on the secure payment page and send the exact amount shown on the Litecoin network. The eSIM is issued once the payment is confirmed on the blockchain.
Which network should I use to send LTC for an eSIM?
Use the Litecoin network itself. Some exchanges also offer LTC as a token on other blockchains, but a transfer on a different network from the one shown on the payment page can leave the payment incomplete.
Does the Litecoin network fee come out of the amount I send?
It should not. Network fees are paid by the sender on top of the amount shown, so switch off any wallet option that subtracts the fee and check that an exchange withdrawal fee does not reduce what arrives. Sending less than the amount shown can leave the payment incomplete.
What if my Litecoin payment request expires before I send?
A crypto payment request stays open for 1 hour. If it expires, start a new one from checkout and use the new payment details. Never send LTC to an expired request.
Can I get a refund on an eSIM paid with Litecoin?
No. All sales are final, so there are no refunds once an order is paid. Check that your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked, and that the plan covers your destination, before you send.
