The Omo Valley
In the far south, the Omo Valley is home to peoples including the Hamar, Mursi and Karo, with distinct dress, body art and ceremonies. Visit respectfully through community-based tours.
Bahir Dar and Lake Tana
Boat across Lake Tana to island monasteries with vivid frescoes, then drive to the thundering Blue Nile Falls (Tis Issat). Bahir Dar's palm-lined streets make a relaxed base.
