Families head to Legoland in Billund, birthplace of the brick. Miniland recreates world landmarks from millions of bricks, and the park sits near the original LEGO House.
Odense and Hans Christian Andersen
On Funen, Odense is the writer's birthplace. The modern HC Andersen's House museum and cobbled old quarter make a charming half-day.
Aarhus and ARoS
Denmark's second city pairs the ARoS Art Museum and its rainbow rooftop walkway with Den Gamle By, an open-air town of historic Danish buildings.
Skagen and Grenen
At Denmark's northern tip, Grenen is where the Baltic and North Seas meet in clashing waves. The luminous light drew the Skagen Painters in the 1800s.
Møns Klint
For nature, the white chalk cliffs of Møns Klint rise 120 metres above turquoise water, with beech forests and stargazing in a designated Dark Sky park.
