Buy an eSIM with USDC: Supported Networks and How to Pay

Pay for a HelloSIM travel eSIM with USDC on Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum or Avalanche. Here are the steps and the mistakes to avoid.

You can pay for a HelloSIM travel eSIM with USDC on five networks: Ethereum, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Arbitrum and Avalanche. At checkout, choose "Pay with crypto", select USDC and the network where your coins are held, then send the exact amount shown on the payment page.

USDC is a dollar-tracking stablecoin that many people use as their spending balance in crypto. Paying with it is simple as long as you know which network your USDC is on, because not every network that carries USDC is on the list.

USDC networks accepted for eSIM payments

  • Ethereum: the most widely supported option. Fees are paid in ETH and vary with demand.
  • Polygon: generally low fees, paid in POL.
  • BNB Smart Chain: a frequent choice for exchange withdrawals. Fees are paid in BNB.
  • Arbitrum: a layer-2 network on Ethereum with generally lower fees, paid in ETH.
  • Avalanche: fees are paid in AVAX.

These are the networks listed for USDC at the time of writing. The payment page always shows the current list, and it can change.

USDC also circulates on networks that are not in that list. If yours is on one of them, do not send it and hope for the best. You have two sensible options: withdraw or move the USDC through one of the five accepted networks, or pay with a different coin that is accepted on the network you use. Tether (USDT), for example, is accepted on eight networks, including TRON, Solana and TON.

Native USDC and bridged versions

On some networks you may see more than one token with USDC in its name. Alongside the native token there can be an older bridged version, often labelled with a suffix such as USDC.e. Wallets treat these as separate tokens, and they are not interchangeable when you make a payment.

Before sending, compare the token your wallet is about to send with what the payment page asks for. If they do not clearly match, stop and choose another coin or network instead of guessing. A blockchain transfer cannot be undone after it is sent.

How to buy an eSIM with USDC

  1. 1Open your wallet or exchange and note which network your USDC is on.
  2. 2Choose your plan, either on the HelloSIM website or in the iPhone or Android app, and continue to checkout.
  3. 3Enter the email address for delivery and select "Pay with crypto".
  4. 4On the secure payment page, choose USDC and the network from step 1. You will see an address, a QR code and the exact amount.
  5. 5Send that amount on that network, making sure you hold enough of the network's own coin for the fee.
  6. 6Once the blockchain confirms the payment, your eSIM shows up in your HelloSIM account or the app, and the QR code is sent to your inbox.

A payment request stays open for 1 hour. If you need to buy the fee coin or move funds first, do that before starting checkout so the clock is not running while you prepare.

Why the USDC amount differs from the euro price

HelloSIM plans are priced in euros. USDC is designed to follow the US dollar, so the two numbers will not match. The payment page converts the euro amount into USDC at the moment you pay and displays the figure to send.

Three points follow from that:

  • Send the amount on the page, even if your own calculation gives a slightly different figure.
  • Network fees are paid by you on top. If an exchange deducts its withdrawal fee from the transfer, raise the amount so that what arrives matches the request.
  • Sending less can leave the payment incomplete. Overpaying still completes the order.

Expiry, delivery time and refunds

If the hour passes before you send, return to checkout and create a new payment request. Never send to an expired request.

Delivery happens when the payment is confirmed, and that depends on the network you used. HelloSIM does not promise a specific number of minutes, so it is wise to buy before the day you fly. Validity only starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination.

All sales are final. A delivered eSIM is a digital product that cannot be refunded, and the one exception is a verified technical fault that HelloSIM cannot resolve. Crypto is available for orders of €1.00 or more.

Stay connected with USDC

Paying in USDC gets you the same eSIM as any other payment method: data-only, working alongside your main SIM so you keep your number, and ready to install over Wi-Fi before you leave. For the complete list of coins and networks, see HelloSIM's "Pay with crypto" page.
