Most visitors land at Providenciales International Airport on Provo, a short drive from Grace Bay, while cruise ships call at the Grand Turk Cruise Center. If your HelloSIM eSIM is installed before you leave, your phone connects to a local network once you arrive.
Why use an eSIM in the Turks and Caicos Islands
- Book boat trips, check the ferry to North Caicos and share your location without hunting for a SIM shop after landing.
- Driving around Providenciales? Live maps help you find quieter beaches such as Long Bay, Taylor Bay and Sapodilla Bay.
- Relying on your home plan here can mean daily roaming fees or limited bundles, so check what your carrier charges first.
- Your own SIM stays in for calls and texts, while WhatsApp continues on your usual number.
- Your plan's days start when the eSIM first connects in the islands, not on the day you buy it.
Most of the action is on Providenciales, but trips to North and Middle Caicos, boat excursions to the cays and a day on Grand Turk are all popular. Having your own data line keeps tours, transfers and dinner reservations in one place.

Networks and coverage
In the Turks and Caicos Islands, the HelloSIM eSIM can use two local networks: Flow (Cable & Wireless) on 4G and Digicel on 4G. Either way you are on 4G/LTE, with no 5G on this plan.
Coverage is usually good across Providenciales, from Grace Bay and Leeward to Turtle Cove and Chalk Sound, and in Cockburn Town and around the cruise centre on Grand Turk.
Expect weaker signal on the sparsely populated North, Middle and South Caicos, on uninhabited cays and on boat trips across the shallow banks, where you can be a long way from the nearest mast.
How to get connected
- 1Check that your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked, then buy the Turks and Caicos Islands plan. You will get the QR code by email straight away, with a copy in your HelloSIM account and app.
- 2Install it on your home Wi-Fi before the trip. On iPhone, go to Settings → Mobile (Cellular in the US) → Add eSIM; on Android, go to Settings → Network & internet or Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM.
- 3After landing in Provo or docking at Grand Turk, enable the HelloSIM line, set it for mobile data and switch Data Roaming on for that line. It is required to connect and costs nothing, because the data has already been paid for.
- 4Turn off data roaming on your home SIM so your own provider has nothing to charge you for.
How much data do you need
- Light — maps, messaging and checking excursion times: about 1 GB a week.
- Medium — sharing beach photos and keeping up with social apps: 3–5 GB a week.
- Heavy — video calls, streaming or working from a rental villa: 10 GB or more a week.
Resorts along Grace Bay generally offer Wi-Fi, while the connection in rental villas and on the quieter islands varies, so data of your own is worth having.

Travel tips for staying connected in Turks and Caicos
- Taking the ferry to North Caicos and driving across the causeway to Middle Caicos? Download offline maps first, as the roads are long and quiet and signal can thin out.
- On snorkelling trips and boat tours over the banks, keep your confirmation and pick-up point saved offline.
- Cruise passengers stopping at Grand Turk: at sea your phone may join the ship's maritime network, which your home carrier bills. Keep home-line roaming switched off until the ship is alongside.
- Need more data after a week on Grace Bay? Top up the same eSIM from the HelloSIM app or the Check / Top up page.
