Pay for an eSIM from a Crypto Exchange: The Withdrawal Guide

Holding crypto on an exchange? Pay for a HelloSIM eSIM with a normal withdrawal: same coin and network, the right amount after fees, and within the 1-hour window.

You can pay for a HelloSIM eSIM straight from a crypto exchange account: choose "Pay with crypto" at checkout, then make an ordinary withdrawal to the address shown on the payment page, using the same coin and the same network. The two things to get right are that the amount that arrives equals the amount shown and that the withdrawal goes out within the 1-hour payment window.

Many people keep their crypto on an exchange such as Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, OKX or Bybit rather than in a wallet of their own. These names are only examples of where people hold crypto. The method below works on any exchange that lets you withdraw a supported coin, but menus, fees and security steps differ, so follow your own exchange's withdrawal screen.

How does paying for an eSIM from an exchange work?

For HelloSIM, a payment from an exchange is the same as any other crypto payment. The secure hosted payment page shows a payment address, a QR code and the exact amount for the coin and network you chose. On the exchange, you use the withdrawal screen, the same one you would use to move coins to a wallet of your own, and send to that address. No special payment feature on the exchange is involved.

The exchange then sends the transfer on your behalf, so the coin, network and amount you enter on the withdrawal form must match the payment page exactly.

How to pay for an eSIM with an exchange withdrawal

  1. 1Check the exchange first. Make sure the coin is in your account, that you can withdraw it, and that your 2FA app or email is to hand for confirmations.
  2. 2Choose a plan and start checkout. Pick a single-country plan (190+ countries), a regional plan or a Global plan, enter your email address and select "Pay with crypto". Guest checkout works; an account helps you manage eSIMs and top up later.
  3. 3Pick a coin and network both sides support. Look at the exchange's withdrawal networks for your coin, then select the same coin and network on the payment page.
  4. 4Paste the address into the withdrawal form. Copy it from the payment page, or scan the QR code if your exchange app can, and compare the first and last characters after pasting.
  5. 5Select the network yourself. Do not accept a preselected network without comparing it with the payment page.
  6. 6Enter an amount that makes the right figure arrive. See the section on withdrawal fees below.
  7. 7Confirm the withdrawal and keep the transaction ID. Once the payment is confirmed on the blockchain, the eSIM appears in your account or the app and the QR code is emailed.

Which coin and network should I choose on the exchange?

The same coin and the same network as on the payment page. Many coins can be withdrawn on several networks: HelloSIM accepts USDT, for example, on TRON (TRC-20), Ethereum (ERC-20), BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20), TON, Solana, Polygon, Arbitrum and Avalanche, and an exchange may offer several of these for the same USDT balance. Exchanges also label networks in their own way; BNB Smart Chain, for instance, may appear as BSC or BEP20.

Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum and Avalanche all use the same 0x address format, so a withdrawal form may accept the address on the wrong network without warning. A transfer on a different network from the one shown can leave the payment incomplete, and blockchain transfers cannot be recalled once sent. The simplest habit is to decide the network on the exchange side first, then choose exactly that one on the payment page.

Does the withdrawal fee come out of the amount I send?

Often, yes. Many exchanges subtract their withdrawal fee from the amount you type, so entering exactly the figure from the payment page means less arrives. Sending less than the amount shown can leave the payment incomplete, while overpaying still completes the order.

  • Look for the line in the withdrawal form that shows how much will be received, and make that figure at least the amount on the payment page.
  • If the form will not accept every decimal place, round up, not down.
  • Exchanges set their own minimum withdrawal amounts, which may be higher than a small order. In that case, adding money to your HelloSIM wallet balance with crypto, from €1.00, and paying for eSIMs from the balance can be simpler.

Network fees are paid by the sender, on top of the amount shown. On an exchange, that cost usually reaches you as the withdrawal fee.

Why exchange withdrawals can miss the 1-hour window

A crypto payment request stays open for 1 hour, and exchanges can add steps that take time:

  • Security confirmations: 2FA codes, email links or approval in the exchange app.
  • Address whitelists: some exchanges only allow withdrawals to saved addresses, and a newly saved address may not be usable straight away. Each payment request has its own address, so check this setting before you start checkout.
  • Withdrawal reviews: an exchange may hold a withdrawal for review before sending it to the blockchain.

If the request expires before your withdrawal goes out, do not send to it; start a new one from checkout, which shows its own address and amount. If you already sent to an expired request, contact HelloSIM support with the transaction ID. When your exchange often holds withdrawals, moving the coins to a wallet of your own before checkout keeps the full hour for the payment itself.

What you need before you start

  • An email address for the eSIM and its QR code
  • A phone that supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked
  • An exchange account holding a supported coin, with withdrawals available and 2FA ready
  • Enough to cover the amount shown plus the exchange's withdrawal fee
  • Wi-Fi to install the eSIM

Delivery, validity and refunds

The eSIM is issued once the payment is confirmed on the blockchain; the timing depends on the coin and network, and HelloSIM does not promise a specific number of minutes. Validity starts when the eSIM first connects to a network at your destination, not on the day you pay, so buying before your trip is fine. All sales are final: there are no refunds once an order is paid.

Stay connected with the crypto already in your account

Paying from an exchange is a normal withdrawal with three checks: same coin, same network, and an amount that still matches after the fee. Leave time for the exchange's security steps, send within the hour, and your eSIM will be ready to install before you fly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay for an eSIM directly from my Binance or Coinbase account?
You can pay from any exchange account that lets you withdraw a coin on a network HelloSIM's payment page accepts. Make an ordinary withdrawal to the address on the payment page, choosing the same coin and network, and check that the amount that arrives matches the amount shown.
Why did less crypto arrive than the amount I entered on the exchange?
Many exchanges subtract their withdrawal fee from the amount you type, so less arrives than you entered. Sending less than the amount shown can leave the payment incomplete, so contact HelloSIM support with the transaction ID if this happens.
Which network should I select when withdrawing from an exchange?
Select exactly the network you chose on HelloSIM's payment page, even if the exchange preselects another one. Several networks share the same address format, and a transfer on a different network from the one shown can leave the payment incomplete.
What if my exchange withdrawal is still pending when the payment request expires?
A crypto payment request stays open for 1 hour, so cancel the withdrawal if your exchange still allows it and start a new request from checkout. If the transfer has already gone out to an expired request, contact HelloSIM support with the transaction ID.
Do I need my own crypto wallet to buy an eSIM?
No. You can pay straight from an exchange account with a normal withdrawal to the address on the payment page. A wallet of your own can help if your exchange often holds withdrawals for review, because each payment request stays open for 1 hour.
